Picadeli's has been in Matthews longer than I've been in Charlotte and their food and friendly service are top notch!!
No matter how many people we have in our group they are alway willing and able to accommodate.
Last night we went after my boys soccer at the Sportsplex with 9 people.
We started with the nachos supreme to split where tasted great and was plenty for a starter for 9 people.
I got the Philly cheese steak with grilled onions, peppers and mushrooms with onion rings, and my dad got the same. Both my daughters got the tuna melt with fries, my mom and wife got the lamb gyro, my sister got the steak sandwich, my brother in law got the French dip, and my son got his usual garlic & parm. chicken wings.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and the service was outstanding. Our drinks were kept full and our waitress took care of any need we had.
This place will always be one of our favorites in Matthews. -

We stopped for a late night dinner and everyone was pleased. The sandwiches were overstuffed and delicious. Try the French Onion soup. The service was also good, the owner stopped by our table to make sure we were all happy.

My Family has been going to Picadeli's for decades. We love the food and the people. The little pub has changed scenes from car parts on the walls to big-screen tvs for any game or race you could ever want to watch. George and his family do a great job, and I've literally never eaten a bad thing there.
I do have to say if you're gonna go, you gotta get a gyro or a greek salad and some baklava!
Thank you guys for years of great service :-) -

We are rarely in this area so, of course, we decided to pop into a pub. Upon entering, I was surprised how small it was and noticed it was an older crowd. Probably explains why out of 4 TVs, only two were playing March Madness, the other golf and racing. My attention was quickly diverted to the great 90's music they were playing. Nice touch and allowed me to be flooded with memories of Weezer, Cranberries and good ol' Beastie Boys.
We sat at the bar as usual. They have 11 taps plus one special one to pour the perfect Guinness. Denise provided us with menus and offered to get us something to drink. We temporarily declined as the ardous task of looking for a reasonable ABV and good taste combo commenced. We chose an IPA.
The menu had a pretty good variety. The appetizers were reasonably priced as no app should be more than $8, in my opinion. We got coeslaw (my husband's fave) to go and Greek pita with tzatziki sauce. Not bad but found it odd not to have dill in the sauce.
Overall, this place is average. Nothing stood out for me. I guess if one lived near by it's a nice place to be a regular. -

Best wings in Matthews, for like two decades now, and they have Guinness on tap. Winning. George and family have been running this place for over twenty years. It feels like family to me. The sandwiches and burgers are amazing. Fun, lively atmosphere. A known quantity that never, ever changes. Thanks for staying pure.
